From a few committed firms we grew

In 2009, twelve leading Alberta architectural firms came together to discuss establishing an organization to build a positive business environment for their profession. As a result, the Consulting Architects of Alberta was founded to represent, advocate for, and support practicing architects in the province. It serves as the industry voice for member firms and promotes the value-added work delivered by consulting architects.

The association works to promote the role of architects and spark industry dialogue on key business issues. It supports the collective interests of its members and offers a vital link between members and clients. The association provides an environment where members can more easily collaborate, exchange ideas, and better serve client and community needs.

Registered under the Alberta Societies Act, the Consulting Architects of Alberta has grown to more than 40 charter members. They range from sole practitioners to large practices—each serving their communities in many different and beneficial ways.

Our Mandate

Currently we focus our efforts on three core areas:

  • Advocacy – with government, with client groups – to represent the business voice of consulting architects
  • Communication – to our member firms – providing information, methods for sharing knowledge
  • Networking – events for members only and events for members and client groups – to connect with one another, build relationships
