Our History
DIALOG stands on the shoulders of great firms that have been brought together by a shared vision.
Cohos Evamy began as Cohos Delesalle Architects in Calgary in 1960 under the leadership of Martin Cohos and Phillipe Delesalle. Michael Evamy and Paul Poffenroth soon joined and became early principals in the firm. Martin, Philipe and Michael were architects. Paul was an engineer. This was the genesis of the multidisciplinary approach that defines a key aspect of DIALOG today.
Mole White Associates was founded in Toronto in 1976 by Susan Mole, Rodger Mole, and Marilyn White. MWA is recognized for intelligent design, effective project management, and for zealous client collaboration. These key characteristics are important to the strength of DIALOG.
Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden Architects + Urbanistes was founded by Norm Hotson in 1973. He was joined soon after by Joost Bakker. Alan Boniface and Bruce Haden joined as partners in 2001. Their national reputation for integrated urban place-making has become an integral element of DIALOG today.
Office for Urbanism is one of Canada's foremost professional urban
planning and urban design leaders who focus on the complex process of
city building. Led by principals Jennifer Keesmaat and Antonio
Gómez-Palacio, OU's work is characterized by thorough project
management, comprehensive planning analysis, a strong and clear
commitment to beauty through design, and a willingness to understand the
uniqueness of each place. OU's collaborative spirit is representative
of the essence of DIALOG.
