Contract issues

The Contracts Committee is actively reviewing prime consultant contract templates in use by our members' clients with a view to highlighting best practices and encouraging our clients to make adjustments where the documents can better serve both consultant and clients' needs. Our initial reactive approach has been expanded to a proactive scan and review of contracts in use by both public and private clients.

The strategy of the committee is three-fold:

  1. Advise our members of what to look for in the contracts they are signing. See the "10 Contract Considerations" list within this website.
  2.  Open a dialogue with our member firms about ongoing issues with contracts. Member firms are encourage to LOG IN to participate in a private online discussion on these matters.
  3. Open a discussion with client groups. We will address both specific contract issues, and strive to engage our clients in higher-level discussions about best practices.

Following is a list of contracts currently under review. We invite you to contact us about these or any other contract issues of interest or concern.
