Learn about what Building Information Modeling (BIM) is, how BIM works, the benefits of BIM and basic navigation in Revit and Navisworks BIM software.

Requirements for Participants: Intermediate computer navigation skills & a basic understanding of the Construction Industry.

BIM Workshop

Organized by Dr. Mohamed Al-Hussein from the University of Alberta in collaboration with the Province of  Alberta.

Public, private owners and stakeholders are loooking at BIM as a technology to assist in project delivery and project representation. This workshop focuses on narrowing the gap of definition and provides an opportunity to stakeholders to meet and network. The workshop's primary objectives are:

  • To reach a unified definition / expectations
  • Realization of the need for a process change
  • Understand the relationship between BIM and Integrated Project Delivery

Location: ETLC Solarium, University of Alberta campus.

Time:  1 to 4:30 pm

Space Industry Opportunities Workshop

In order for Alberta companies to discover how to diversify into the
province's expanding space industry, Alberta Finance and Enterprise is
pleased to announce a collaborative event that will showcase how to take
advantage of $6 billion in future opportunities.  

The Space Industry Opportunities Workshop will take place on October 12,
2010 at the University of Calgary and will bring together speakers from
Government, Academia, and Industry as well as Canadian Space Agency
President, Steve MacLean.
