New web content!
A recent upgrade of our content management system has allowed us to make some worthwhile updates to our website.
- More direct access from the home page to information on our advocacy efforts
- Ability to have secure online member-to-member discussions on advocacy issues
- A searchable member database for public, client, and members
- Enhanced business resources
- Public information on the role of an architect and how to engage their services
- News and events. This was an existing section, but with the
assistance of a new part time administrative assistant, we can now keep
the information more current and therefore relevant and valuable to our
members.
As always, we invite your feedback and ideas for content. |
Questions posed to PC leadership candidates With
a new leadership team coming into play in the very near future, the CAA
is anxious to know where the provincial government’s priorities will be
in the next several years. To this end, we have posed three key
questions to EACH of the leadership candidates in an effort to learn

Advocacy Update
Over the past several months, CAA has managed an active advocacy agenda with three key approaches:
- Direct approach to government
- Participation in cross-industry committees
- Internal CAA committee work
Direct approach
Most recently - on August 25 - we
met with senior bureaucrats at Alberta Infrastructure (DM Barry Day, ADM
Diane Dalgliesh and Executive Director Brian Soutar) to talk about how
the CAA is perceived by this major client, and how we can work together

Industry Committees
We continue to represent the voice
of consulting architects on several different industry committees.
Volunteer representatives are working on the new Alberta BIM task force,
on the Infrastructure Conference planning committee, and the VRAES task
force, to name a few.
Of particular note, in late August the members of the VRAES task force (Vendor Registry for Architecture and Engineering Services) met to talk about how the VRAES system has been working, where the challenges are, and what improvements can be made. . . . Read More.
CAA Core Advocacy Committees
We have four core committees that are working to identify issues, then respond in a proactive and strategic manner. Click here to learn more about what each committee is currently up to. |
