Alberta Sustainable Building Symposium 2012

The Alberta Sustainable Building Symposium (SBS) is celebrating its 15th year with a bold, updated format and an invigorating program.

New this year, Alberta SBS introduces the single-city format. Calgary hosts the province’s premier green building event in 2012 – Thursday, May 3 – and Edmonton will host the 2013 event.

With the theme, “The business of green: what’s in it for me?” the Alberta SBS will attract building owners and operators, architects, planners, builders, green suppliers, and planning and building policy makers.

Setting the tone of the day are two sought-after keynote speakers – leaders in the international sustainable development community – who will entertain, inform and challenge with their unique combinations of knowledge, vision and practical ideas for moving the green agenda forward.

Alex Steffen, one of the world’s leading green futurists and a pioneering thinker on global sustainability, opens a new world of sustainable possibilities to all who listen. Eric Corey Freed, a practising architect, is a recognized pioneer in organic architecture.

Providing a forum to showcase leading success stories and cutting edge innovation in the green building design and construction industry will be a series of local presenters chosen from a ‘call for presenters’ currently open until Feb. 14, 2012.  Looking for the latest trends in green building products and support services?  You will find them at the exclusive Green Building Innovation Showcase.
